Shakespeare LIVES! on Wednesdays

Announcing weekly Shakespeare workshops preparing actors for future paid work with the Troupe. The workshops are held at the Sol Theatre in downtown Boca Raton on Wednesdays between 4 pm and 9 pm through September 27.  Reservations for any of the workshops are required, and attendance times are flexible. Participants will have the opportunity to set an audition time for the casting of Hamlet and other Shakespeare Troupe productions. Any questions, please email us at: anon@ShakesTroupe.org.

The program is led by Shakespeare Troupe Founder, Peter W. Galman, and culminates on Friday, September 29, with a Staged Reading showcase for workshop attendees and graduates. Showcase participation is FREE.

OBJECTIVE: The workshops are meant to train actors to learn the rules of verse, to tune the voice and body to speak and move creatively with the lines, and to get guidance in creating believable action while portraying characters onstage to an audience.

FOCUS: We will work from the texts of our repertory, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and expanding the rep to include Hamlet, now set for production at Sol in March, followed by a school tour in April.

EMPLOYMENT: Auditions for Hamlet will take place at Sol starting on Saturday, September 9 and continuing through October on Saturday afernoons. Auditioners are encouraged to attend the workshops, where they will gain support and coaching in the material they will present. Breakdown of roles will be made available at the workshops.

All rehearsals and performances are paid.

COST:

$79 for one session. Auditing is available.

$49 per session if attending multiple sessions.
