Shylock v. Antonio

Peter Galman, founder of the Shakespeare Troupe of South Florida, revitalizes the longstanding debate regarding Shakespeare's depiction of the Jewish ghetto formed after the Spanish Inquisition in a fresh interpretation of The Merchant of Venice. This production stars international celebrity Avi Hoffman alongside award-winning Shakespearean actor Kevin Reilley and features emerging talents Hannah Hayley, Raymond Adderly, and Nicole Hulett. "Shylock v. Antonio" has a runtime of approximately 90 minutes. The Sol Theatre offers an intimate atmosphere with comfortable seating. There will be two performances: an early one for those with other evening plans and a second at 7 PM. The play, written by longtime theatre critic Peter Filichia, will be read by the actors. Stage directions will be narrated by Christine Chavers, one of the earliest creators of the burgeoning South Florida theatrical scene.
